The tool of Shaytan, Evil TV

I am an avid reader of Islamway`s sisterforum. I have been so since 2002. Those ladies never cease to amuse, educate me or sometimes sicken me. This post I am to write about came out today. A very seasoned user of the forum is shocked by a recent fatwa coming out of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi judge condemns 'immoral TV'

I went into her post titled "What kind of fatwah is this?"

As I read her post the ayat of al-maaidah instantly popped in my mind.

The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter. (al-Maa'idah 5:33).

This ayat is one that would touch me in an islamic state. I am a spreader of mischief. Bless her heart for being shocked.

Then the other sisters start to post, one feeble attempt was made by a lovely woman to shush this off as paranoia of Wester Media, she was soon shot down. We have now reached the state where the forementioned aya was put out and there is common agreement that those who make bad tv must die!

The lovely Sis Nena who came to islam around 2003 wrote the following:

assalam alekom,

I don't see anything shocking with what the sheikh said. Whoever spreads immorality to people through TV or otherwise should be killed.
This is common sense and doesn't need fatwa.

Wassalam alekom

Ah, my lovelies. How beautiful islam is. Its common sence to kill off those who make tv you dont like. I am picking up my gun now and going to hunt down the makers of Full House with a printed fatwa in my back pocket!

Now, now my dear Kafira! You know that fatwa is a reach and not from Islam.

Hope you are doing well!
