I knew we were bad, but then we were worse

I am sitting here researching a term I have never heard before,sharrul- barriyah, used in a discussion on Islamway Sisters titled "my trip to egypt".

A converted american muslimah took a vacation with her husband to his homeland Egypt, Cairo exact, filled with the best of people, majorly muslim, but she is still a bit surprised how bad it is.
I know the feeling. I had the same when I was in the village in Pakistan and also Lahore, but could flee to a good hotel.
I was glad we were primarily staying in upper-class Islamabad, going to markets was always a small cultureshock, but I was not totally unprepared,
I had seen the news from Pakistan, newspapers and pics. I came home in one piece.
A gal with a cultureshock, I could relate.
I guess I spend too much time on such sites, or maybe I am just not reflective enough, I had to go back and read it over though. An apiffany.

But genna is better, and neverending.inchAllah muslims will have both, a reasonnably comforted life and the right path!like the sisters said, many sins are the effect of poverty, remember, omar, radia Allahu anhu, said that if poverty was a person he would have killed her.
Now when i return to my homeland , i'm so surprised by the easy and comfortable living ,but sincerly : shocked about the behaviour of the people and how zina is the
normalest thing of the world, kufr standard and, about their arrogance, how their hide the death, just as if there will live without diying, and...and...and...
don't let shaytan make you see everything hopeless bad, and, try to go find halaqas of rightous women, and try to see the positive sides of your journey, prepare yourself in getting know as much as you can what could help you to make hidgra, like visiting an area which is known to be good, calm, the possibilities of learning arabic, try to meet sisters who allready made hidgra to egypt and could tell about their lives, look at their children ...and compare to those of your homelandthat could help you to make finally one day the choice. lot's of hug's dear sister, and i wish you after all a very nice time among the muslims!

Yeah, I always put the kafir on the ladder on the bottom of the human scale in islam. The muslim on the #1, the dhimmi on #2 and the kafir down there on #3.I was mistaken.
I and my KafirGhurka, hinduborn, got us one of these:

We did not purchase this one for the kafir in us, he was actually just a guest that was left behind. A guest with no place to go. Now, we don`t need no herding nor guarding in our apartment, but its not out of spite of allah that we are keeping him with us in our apartment. It`s just the right thing to do. He would die on his own, trying it out in the world with his meager monthly salary from a rather stingy former owner. He is not a workingdog, nor a couchpotatoe. The latter not of his choice, he is just not allowed. So here he is and has been for the last 6 years. Had we been muslim we would have had to say no because apparantly allah has OCD and cleanlyness is very much tied to specific things, e.g dogs or the cute pink piggie. For him and us I am glad we are not muslim so we got to have him.

We have a standing joke in the house about Mutterson and KafirGhurka, as the primary walker of us, that KafirGhurka did something wrong towards Mutterson in their previous life and is now repaying Mutterson.
Lo! Ney! Say quran, KafirGhurka is according to islam serving a better creature then him when he takes ole Mutterson out so he can piss down his legs and stick his nose in bad-smelling stuff his old eyes can`t see.
I will keep this to myself, this religious appifany. I don`t want Mutterson to convert to islam and start bossing us all around like the imam of the house here since he, according to islam, is above us in character.
I love him to bits, and KafirGhurka does too, but to logically or spiritually accept this notion, seeing his lil snout in his liverpasted food, cohersed to eat by haram means, that he is a b o v e us. Ney! Eventhough by islamic standards he is occupying block #3 on the winners pyramid in the ranking of creatures in an islamic society he is staying on the floor here. I will just give him a cuddle and quietly say thanks for those angels he keeps out. It`s enough with the dustbunnies in here....
