Reading her latest I came to think of an excellent article I read long time ago by Nonie Darwish called Impossible Family Dynamics of Islam.
Living Life can report back about a "look" for the unmarried sisters". She went to a party and was happy that she was not "looked" at.
She had a gathering for the ladies at her home and I went with my kids. I had a ball. I was not going to go at first. I was just not in the mood for the looks. YOu may not know the look but there is a look for the unmarried sisters.
ITS THE HUMMMMMMMM U r going to be after my husband look; do I have to worry about youlook; the Damn why you here without a mahram look. Then I have to give the look back; HELLO NO I dont want your man cause if he sent you out the house looking like that he cant afford me look; the yeah you have to worry about me Just becuase; and the dont worry about me not having a mahram I got this. I am ok and doing EVERYTHING quite nicely that you very much and just worry about YOUR mahram, do you know where HE IS???
What a sad state of affair between women who live in society where the genders are segregated. Where women need eachother the most they are always living in fear that their sister may become their sisterwife.

I loved this post so much Kafira! It is indeed a very sad state of affairs. Please keep writing! Yasmin
The truth of it is....there are no married men in Islam....they are all single....unless they got their quota of 4. This post just brings that to light.....well written......
